Well I finally got to see a decent doctor, as my clubmates know I have been struggling alot with my knees. The verdict - arthritis, waiting my xray results to get a full picture of the damage. The doctor said I will have to hang up my judogi and take things easier. I'm pi**ed off about it as you know I love doing judo. Will fill you in with more details when I get my results. Sad

Shocked What? Shocked
So sorry to hear that!

Might be worth getting a second opinion. My Mum has arthritis in her back and thumbs quite badly. The doctor put her on permanent anti-inflammatory drugs. My Chiropractor was gobsmacked as those drugs shouldn't be taken long term as they eat your stomach away!! After seeing him and being given things to do she managed to greatly reduce the dose she was on - I'm sure it was something like half the dose! Which is much better for her. So sometimes there are things you can do to help it, but you probably won't get that info from a GP.

Worth checking all the options anyway!!

Sad Sad

Please keep us posted. You know what Doctors are like though. Mine always says, regardless of injury, that I should stop doing Judo because my "body is not up to it".

Get well soon !!
