Kyu - Red Belt
Dojo Etiquette.
Ukemi (breakfalls) - Front, Side and Rear.
Escapes from wrist holds - Front and Rear. One or both Wrists
held - one or two handed attack - same side and cross grip
- plain or inverted grip.
7th
Kyu - Yellow Belt
All previous grade syllabus.
Escapes from Front finger strangulations and Rear finger and
forearm (Hadaka-jime) Strangulations.
Escapes from Front, Side and Rear Bear-hugs - arms free and
pinned.
6th
Kyu - Orange Belt
All previous grade syllabus.
Simple "block and blow" defences against hook punch
and cosh attacks.
Defences against kick attacks.
Defences against head chancery, front and rear, and against
full - and half-nelson.
5th
Kyu - Green Belt
All previous grade syllabus.
Escapes from lapel holds - one or two handed attacks, with
or without punch or head-butt.
Defences against rear shoulder grip, one or two handed, with
and without punch, same side and cross grip attacks.
Defences against hair grabs, front and rear.
4th
Kyu - Purple Belt
All previous grade syllabus.
Defences against a straight punch to the face, (minimum of
5 simple techniques).
Defences against low punch to the stomach, (minimum of 5 simple
techniques).
Minimum of 5 defences incorporating throwing techniques.
Uke-no-kata.
3rd
Kyu - Blue Belt
All previous grade syllabus using combination techniques -
blocks, blows, throws, kicks, nerve point attacks, immobilizations
and standing controls.
2nd
Kyu - Brown Belt
All previous grade syllabus.
Defences against knife attacks, downward and thrusting stabs,
slashing and "hold-up" attacks.
Defences against two-man attacks, one holding, one attacking.
1st
Kyu - Brown Belt, one red tag
All previous grade syllabus.
Defences against "hold-up" pistol attacks, front
and rear.
Defences against three-man attacks, two holding, one attacking.
Defence against line up. Minimum of five attackers.
Embu of five attacks each.
